Sam Winchester Blessedly, Sam possesses the tact that his older brother does not. While the Winchester blood has a genetic predisposition to run hot, Sam is a reasonable fellow with years of research work under his belt and a strong desire to help people, both of which appeal to Evelyn on a fundamental level. He is one of her closest friends and his company is always welcomed - Evelyn has not forgotten how he once sacrificed himself to save her during an event, and his steadfast dedication to providing assistance when able is a reassuring constant in increasingly difficult times. |
Dan Palmer Evelyn first met Dan while sleepwalking into the bar one late evening, when he kindly shook her to wakefulness and escorted her back to her rooms. Since then he has shown himself to be remarkably compassionate for the humble origins from whence he comes, having opened a generous dialogue with her when he wasn't obligated to do so. She is delighted to call him a friend for what he has done for her, has become a great deal more since their introduction. He is the kindness and love she sometimes doubts she deserves. |
Dipper Pines Dipper reminds Evelyn all too well of Alex, her son, another adventurous boy intent on taking notes about his findings, digging into things of which he should be more wary, and learning codes and languages to edify himself. His insistence on being taken seriously strikes close to home in that she recalls a time when she felt much the same way, struggling to have her voice heard over the din of people who "know better." He can accomplish great things, as long as he doesn't lose sight of what is important. |
Wirt {I can't believe I'm actually holding this and not like, staring at it in a museum or something.} ♬ singloversing Wirt is interesting, possessing a style perhaps better suited to her time than his own. Sensitive and quiet Evelyn cannot help but imagine that it is more difficult for him to be in Wonderland than he projects, but he has an excellent eye for objects of historical value and a great willingness to learn. She hopes to see him much more often out and about. |
Stanford Pines Ford flip-flopped between "decent impression" and "genuinely terrible impression" in the grand majority of their encounters, but Evelyn is a forgiving librarian and fellow pursuer-of-knowledge, and therefore capable of forgiving a great deal of social pratfalls. Very different from his twin brother in...far too many ways, Ford means well and supplies a surprising amount of reassuring conversation. He needs to brush-up on |
Lucifer Morningstar If someone had told Evelyn that she, a veritable poster child for succumbing to temptation, would make fast friends with the ruler of Hell, she might have shrugged and agreed. Her rapport with Lucifer - while often chiding and amusing in turns - is the sort of lighthearted theological debate she adores. If nothing else, she trusts him to be himself. |
Joel Miller Following in the footsteps of many plaid predecessors, Joel made a horrifically bad first impression by setting the library on fire. Since then he has made attempts of recompense for frequently sticking his foot in his mouth around her, with varying degrees of success. Evelyn assumes his reticence to socialise is a by-product of the state his world is in, and she is understanding of that. To a point. |
ACQUAINTANCES |
Rick Sanchez Evelyn really has no idea where to start. Having met a number of excessively ridiculous characters in her time in Wonderland, Rick is an oddly lucid eccentric. Also, should drink less. Also, seems like an interesting fount of interdimensional knowledge she should attempt to tap. |
Stanley Pines {You question everyone who comes in here about what they're gonna do with their library books?} ♬ charlastan Evelyn knows the type. A clever shyster used to getting his way by hook or by crook, a fellow with sticky fingers and an equally sticky reputation. She doesn't trust Mister Pines, not entirely, but at best he's a harmless grifter and at worst he's...probably a felon. |
Ellie Williams Ellie is stubborn, uncomfortable with polite exchanges, and has an enormous weight writ into her for someone so young. Concerned for her well-being but mindful of acting too motherly Evelyn is happy to provide much-needed socialising and educational encouragement in the hopes that she might become more comfortable in company. |
WE'LL MEET AGAIN |
Mark Meltzer Gone but not forgotten. |
Philip LaFresque Philip was Evelyn's oldest and dearest of friends, being one of the first people to welcome her to Wonderland when she arrived over five years ago. He was her closest confidante and most trusted ally, and his loss is felt more deeply than anyone that has disappeared before. |
Steve Rogers Steve, like Evelyn, has been wrenched out of his respective time and thrust into an unforgiving and unaccommodating future. Despite all this his retains his hope, an admirable quality in times of great need, which Wonderland has in ample supply. It is easy for Evelyn to see why he was selected for the Super Soldier programme - Steve is gifted with selflessness, and a genial candour that rivals her own. He may just be one of the only people in Wonderland with whom she can converse about adapting to a future with one foot in the past. |
Cecil Palmer {Oh, that's the worst, isn't it, when dead people think you're someone you're not?} ♬ goodnightlisteners Cecil possessed the perfect voice for radio and the uncanny understanding of someone who has lived through perplexing and life-threatening times. Evelyn was warmed by the familiarity that his programme brought. |
Will Graham The agony that Will brought her is rivaled by the happiness. She doesn't hate him for what he did, but she deserved better than what he gave her for everything that she gave him. |
John Blake John knew her since before she made her nine-year leap into the future, which made him one of the few people to have seen her transition from undergraduate-turned-librarian to mostly-professional Egyptologist. He was a close friend and pillar of support. |
John Winchester Stubborn, frustrating, crass and obsessive, John was every bad trait that has been unceremoniously poured into his children, but his attempts at endearing himself back to Evelyn after several mishaps were not unsuccessful. He'll be missed, even if his smoking will not. |
Jo Lauchlan, née Harvelle Jo and Evelyn are more alike than they might care to admit - having died in their own worlds, having had romantic overtures with unsavoury characters, being generally capable of handling just about anything thrown their way. Evelyn had a deep and tremendous respect for Jo, and she deserved more. |
James Potter A wizard with a great deal to say about Egyptian curses. She would not have believed his claim of identity had he not demonstrated his 'magic,' as it were, and later explained that a stag she had once met in Wonderland's woods was his own person. |
Victor Frankenstein {You may feel outside yourself, this place may make you feel even further from the life you had, but that, too, will pass.} ♬ lifeskills Within Victor Evelyn found a galvanising kinship, both of them coming to terms about their respective origins and finding a pleasant sort of solace in each other's company being from time periods to which Wonderland does not cater. Her closest philosophising friend. |
